The Vernon Hills Park District is holding a children’s book drive, on behalf of Bernie’s Book Bank, from June 19-July 21. Our goal is to collect 1500 quality books, new or gently used, suitable for children from birth through 6th grade.  The collected books will be distributed to at-risk children.  Nearly 61% of low income homes have no children’s books and Bernie’s Book Bank, with the Vernon Hills Park District’s help, hopes to change that! Collection bins are located in the Sullivan Community Center, 635 N. Aspen Drive.  We are unable to collect the following books: text, activity, coloring, video game guides, young adult, adult, and reference. www.berniesbookbank.org
