About the Fitness Center and Gymnasium 
One of the most important aspects of the Park District is supplying a variety of methods for people to achieve and maintain a high level of physical fitness. The weight training room, located in the Sullivan Center, has 13 variable resistant weight machines, dumbbells that range from 5 to 100 pounds, free weights and benches, Smith Machine, Power Rack and Cross-over Cable Machine.
The Park District also offers a wide variety of aerobics and
fitness classes. Some of them include Step, Crosstrainer, Pilates, and Zumba. A cardiovascular room provides treadmills, step machines,
upright and recumbent bikes, and elliptical cross-trainers.
A full-size gymnasium is located in the Sullivan Center. Fitness members can use the gym free of charge during open gym hours. Non-members can purchase a fitness pass punch card or pay a daily fee.
There is a personal trainer on-staff who can take you through
a one-on-one orientation session on how to use all of the equipment. You can
also receive assistance in developing a program to help your cardiovascular
conditioning, muscle-toning/building, flexibility and weight management
during your scheduled appointment. We encourage everyone, regardless of
goals, to incorporate a physical fitness regimen into their lives.
