Early Childhood Education

Parent & Child Classes

The Park District offers numerous classes for children, ages newborn to 5 years old, and parents to enjoy together.

Sports - Start Smart Sports Variety and Baseball classes are geared to the 3-5 year olds. These classes teach children motor skills while building confidence and self esteem.

Music - Kindermusik classes are offered for children, newborn to 3 1/2 years old, with a caregiver. Creative movement, vocal play, object & instrument exploration, and colorful literature are all components of these classes. Music-in-the-Box classes are offered for newborns - 34 months old. Children explore rhythm instruments, puppets, scarves, singing & dancing.

Art - Pee Wee Picassos is a preschool arts & crafts class. Parents and children work together to create projects in this hands-on class.

Variety - Children explore and use their imagination while participating in a wide variety of activities in other parent & child classes.

Drop-off Classes

Two year olds who are ready to attend class on their own have a variety of classes to choose from. Children who attend the Early Childhood Drop-off classes do not have to be potty-trained, but please be aware that instructors are not responsible for changing diapers. Classes are available for 2-5 year olds.
