Turtles Swim Team Emma Harmata is competing in a National Meet

March 21, 2017

Emma Harmata, an 8th grader from Libertyville and a member of the Turtles Swim Team, will be competing in the National Club Swimming Association Age Group Championships in Orlando, Florida this Friday. This is a national meet that includes the fastest swimmers, 14 years and younger, from all over the country. This meet is highly competitive and only the “best of the best” qualify for this meet. Many of the swimmers participating in this competition will go on to swim in high school state championships or even get an invitation to the Olympic trials. Emma will be competing in the 50 yard freestyle on Friday.  She has progressed through all of the levels on the Turtles Swim Team starting at Bronze I.  She has been a member of the Green team for the past couple of years. This will be her second time qualifying for this meet and she hopes to do even better than her previous trip!
