Closures in Proactive Response to COVID-19

Dear Vernon Hills Park District Community,
Vernon Hills Park District has been closely monitoring the rapidly changing COVID-19 Coronavirus health issue in our region. We are following the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ensuring the health and safety of our community. The Park District is implementing the following actions to protect our residents.
Sullivan Community Center Closed March 14-April 5
The Sullivan Community Center will be closed for three weeks beginning Saturday, March 14. At this time, our plan is to re-open on Monday, April 6. Online registration will be operational March 14-April 5. If you have questions regarding registration, please call (847) 996-6800, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm. Please visit our website, www.vhparkdistrict.org for future updates.
All programs held at the Sullivan Community Center including Little Learners Preschool are cancelled.
Special Events scheduled through May 1 are cancelled:
You’re My Superhero (This event will be rescheduled)
Kids’ Castle Dragon Hunt
Hoppin’ Holiday Hunt
Loop the Lakes 5K/Walk
Family Kite Fly
Lakeview Fitness will Remain Open
Lakeview Fitness will remain open to members only. Swim lessons and spring break drop-in swim are cancelled. The Turtles swim team will not hold practice during March 14-April 5.
Little Learners Childcare will remain open.
Please know this was a very difficult decision for us. We understand this may create challenges for families, but we also believe it is our responsibility to do all we can to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our patrons.
