Phase 4 – Reopening Continues

The Vernon Hills Park District looks forward to continuing to reopen and fulfill its vision of conserving nature, supporting wellness, and inspiring leisure for all. In accordance with the State of Illinois’ Restore Illinois Plan, staff continues to plan for the return of programming and reopening of facilities as detailed in Phase 4-Recovery beginning tomorrow.
Below are the details for specific areas of interest:
Sullivan Community Center is open Monday through Saturday.
Lakeview Fitness opens July 1 with modifications. Outdoor fitness classes with limited capacity and personal training is currently being offered. Advanced reservations for lap swimming and groups exercise can be scheduled through the Lakeview Fitness App. Use of the cardio and free weight rooms do not require reservations. An option to keep individual memberships frozen is available.
Family Aquatic Center is open for lap swim, therapy water walking, adult water aerobics, public swim, and parent/tot swim. All programs require advance reservations. Visit the FAC web page for more information.
The Farmers Market is open. This year, the market is operating as an “In & Out” market with safety guidelines.
Summer Day Camp has begun with modified versions of our traditional day camps in limited quantities. Last Blast Camp is offered in a 2-week session for grades K-7 in August with an extended care option.
All outdoor sports courts, playgrounds, and outdoor fitness stations are open.
Outdoor restrooms are open.
Picnic Shelters and Pavilions are available for rental beginning July 6. A maximum of 50 persons is allowed or 50% capacity.
Youth and Adult Sports programs are available for registration. Most programs begin in July.
Adult Drop-in programs begin including table tennis and basketball.
Swim lessons will resume with modifications for the July20-30 sessions at Lakeview Fitness. An additional session was added for August 3-13. Registration will be available early next week.
Fall Program Guide will be mailed to Vernon Hills’ residents the week of July 20.
