Carol Sente Appointed to Park Board

November 20, 2020

Carol Sente was appointed by the Park Board at the November 19, 2020 Park Board meeting to fill the vacancy created by Commissioner Jim Ballowe’s retirement. Carol has been a Vernon Hills resident since 1997 and first served on the Park Board from 2004-2009, until she became the Illinois State Representative for District 59. She served our community in this capacity for almost ten years. Carol has a strong understanding of park district operations through her prior experience of being a Park Board Commissioner as well as her passion for open space, lifelong fitness, the benefits of leisure, and environmental stewardship.

Carol owns a small management consulting practice, serves on the Small Business Advocacy Council Board, and is an active member of Willow South Lake church. She enjoys hiking, fitness, traveling the world, reading, and glamping.

The Park District is excited to welcome Carol back and looks forward to sharing in her enthusiasm and devotion to our community.
