March 17, 2021

On March 16, 2021 the Governor announced more than $24.9 million for Park and Recreational Facility Construction Program (PARC) grants to 12 park districts, forest preserves and local governments to construct, renovate, and improve recreational facilities. The PARC funding is made available through the Rebuild Illinois capital program and was the direct result of Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD)  advocacy efforts in 2019.

Vernon Hills Park District was selected as recipient of a PARC Grant for the renovation of Lakeview Fitness. Park District Executive Director, Jeff Fougerousse commented, “The Vernon Hills Park District is excited to advance this project for our community”.
