Vernon Hills Park District was selected as recipient of a Park and Recreational Facility Construction Program Grant (PARC) for the renovation of Lakeview Fitness. The District was awarded a PARC Grant of $2,247,700 to provide an addition and renovation to the existing facility.

Construction began mid-April 2022 with a tentative completion date of October 2022. The indoor pool closed in late April. The facility, with the exception of the indoor pool, will remain open during construction.

  • The addition will be more than 4,700-square feet and will include health/fitness, training, and support offices.
  • The renovation includes locker room upgrades, a new indoor/outdoor group exercise room, and a new bathroom on the deck with changing rooms.
  • The pool expansion includes a new ADA pool lift, added lap lanes, zero entry pool edge, spa upgrades, and added shallow-water spray features.
  • The site work includes additional parking with expanded storm water detention facilities and an outdoor paved area.
