The Village of Vernon Hills is working with the Lake County Storm Water Maintenance Commission and the Vernon Hills Park District to restore the Seavey Ditch from Hazeltine Drive to Lake Charles. The restoration project involves removing trees, cleaning out the creek, reforming the banks, and preventing erosion from filling in and damaging the lakes downstream. The banks of the creek will be planted with natives to help prevent pollution from running into the creek. Phase 1, tree removal, will begin the week of March 18.
