The Village of Vernon Hills and the Park District have teamed up to purchase the former Opa! Restaurant situated on 3 acres of land, located along Hawthorn and Lakeview Parkways. The now vacant building will be demolished by the end of this year and redevelopment will be phased in over the next few years.  Currently, the plans include keeping some of the parking space and extending Century Park’s current walking/biking path onto the new property.  The remainder of the property will remain as green space for the community to enjoy.
