Volunteer experiences at the Vernon Hills Park District change seasonally. Opportunities may include assisting with special events, coaching youth sports, enhancing programs, preschool assistance, administrative duties and more! Volunteer opportunities are not limited to what is listed. We welcome your ideas too!

“I’ve always been fascinated by the various events that the Park District organizes. Among all the events, my favorite is the Mighty Triathlon 2023. I remember being present at the event and unexpectedly running into my school friends. Watching those kids compete on their tiny bicycles, wearing huge smiles on their faces, just made my day.” – Reshma
Over the past year, Reshma has gone above and beyond as a volunteer for us. She always is one of the first to respond when a volunteer is needed, and does so with enthusiasm. She also recently attended a Park Board meeting as part of her graduation requirement to complete a Civic Engagement Project and prepare a presentation for her class. Reshma is very engaged with the District and the community. We are lucky to have her as a volunteer. |
