Park District Advisory Committee

The Park District Advisory Committee is composed of  five resident members appointed by the Park Board President. Every attempt is made by the Board President to geographically balance committee representation by appointing members from the various neighborhoods or developments within Vernon Hills.

The Committee shall aid the Board in knowing the attitudes, feelings, and needs of residents within the respective neighborhoods, and advising staff in ways of serving those constituents. The relationship of the Committee to the Board and staff is one of assistance and advice for the betterment of District services and facilities. The mutual support of the Committee, District staff and Board, will result in the collective ability to provide the most outstanding Park District possible.

The Park District Advisory Committee meets three times annually. The meetings are public and agendas are posted on the website a minimum of 48 hours prior to the meetings. The Superintendent of Recreation will serve on the Committee, facilitate all Committee meetings, and serve as Secretary.
