Rock Gardens

Help our Rock Gardens grow!

Spread kindness by painting rocks with artwork and positive messages for all ages.

Visit the rock gardens to take a painted rock for inspiration, share a rock with another person for motivation, or create a new painted rock for preservation. Each garden will have a small supply of unpainted rocks that the community is welcome to take to paint and then return for all others to enjoy.

Rock Garden Locations:

Century Park

Deerpath Park

Hartmann Park

Century Park – Near the boat dock off Lakeview Parkway on the east side of the picnic shelter.

Deerpath Park – Surrounding the Kids’ Castle sign near the south end near the tennis/pickleball courts.

Hartmann Park – Next to the Free Library Book House at the south end along Cherry Valley Road.

Rock Painting Guidelines:

  • Wash dirt off your rock and let it dry before beginning to paint.
  • Acrylic paint is best – It does not wash off clothing so be sure to wear old clothes! Water-based paint can also be used.
  • Protecting your finished rock with a clear coat spray is recommended.

As a reminder, please practice social distancing while enjoying the rock gardens.
