Invasive Species Removal from Century Park
March 21, 2017
The Vernon Hills Park District’s Parks Department will be burning small piles of cleared brush and small trees at the north end of Century Park today and periodically over the next couple of weeks when weather conditions are favorable. This is part of the invasive species removal process that is under way in the park. The necessary permit has been acquired from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the local authorities have been notified. The burning will commence after 7:00 AM and will be extinguished before 2:30 PM. Staff will be present at all times. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Parks Foreman Rick Krocza at 847-812-9055.
