Fall Compost Giveaway

The Vernon Hills Park District has partnered with the Village of Vernon Hills, SWALCO, and GO Green Vernon Hills and Lincolnshire to offer free compost to Vernon Hills and Lake County residents (via a SWALCO Grant from USDA). The compost event is being held in conjunction with the District’s Trucks, Trunks, and Treats event on Saturday, October 15 from 11 am-1 pm at the Sullivan Community Center parking lot.
A maximum of 10 gallons per household is being offered. Bring two 5-gallon buckets or one 10-gallon bucket. Compost is available while supplies last.
Compost pick-up is free!
Admission fees apply if attending the Trunks, Trucks, and Treats event.
